Pelkka is a cozy log cabin that offers an atmospheric and nature-oriented cottage experience. The cottage is located right on the shore of Lake Vaikkojärvi in Juuka. This cottage is the perfect place to escape everyday life and enjoy the peace of the surrounding wilderness and the small adventure offered by the lake

Facilities and Amenities

The log cabin was built in 2016. Accommodation is on a pull-out sofa in the kitchen-living room and on mattresses in the loft. The sauna is located in the immediate vicinity of the cottage, and there is a covered terrace between the cottage and the sauna. For wood heating, the cottage has a metal stove oven with a glass door.

Electricity, Water and Other Practices

Pelkka cottage is located on the shore of wilderness-like Lake Vaikkojärvi and has its own shallow, sanded beach, where its own boat also awaits nature lovers.

Utility water is fetched from the lake, and drinking water can either be brought along or fetched from the well of nearby Kotakylä. The lake water was also tested as potable in 2020. The kitchen has a drain, but no running water or pump.

The cottage is available for booking from June to October. The cottage is located 23 km from Juuka and a 105 km drive from Joensuu.

Surroundings

In the vicinity is Saunamaa, where various saunas, canoes, kayaks, and SUP boards, as well as fishing equipment, are available for rent.
