Go experience the atmosphere of sailing on Pielinen and see Koli from a new perspective. On the water, daily worries fade away, and we focus only on the gentle rhythm of the boat trip created by the wind, water, and waves.

This short sailing trip is especially suitable for first-timers who want to try sailing for the first time or spend a leisurely moment in the lake scenery.

No prior sailing experience is required for participation. Children are also welcome when accompanied by a parent.

Your guide on the sailing trip

The boat's skipper is a sailing instructor, and during the trip, you can, if you wish, handle the sails and steer the boat under the guidance of the instructor-skipper. The journey is spacious and unhurried, perhaps even joyfully fast with a brisker wind.

Landscapes from a new perspective

From the water, Koli appears somewhat different – exactly as travelers once saw it when arriving by ship. The fells rise grand and impressive when viewed from the lake.

Every sailing trip is unique. The wind can be brisk or light, the lake calm as a mirror or lively. This trip does not promise perfect wind or perfect silence, but an authentic moment on the water exactly as nature offers it that day.

What to bring

You will need weather-appropriate outdoor clothing. It's good to pack – or at least bring – a windproof layer, as it's often cooler on the water than on land. Shoes should be such that they do not leave dark streaks on the boat deck.

  • Duration: approximately 2 hours
  • Group size: 2 - 4 people
  • Departure point: Koli Harbor
  • The boat has vests for all participants
  • Languages: Finnish and English
  • Parking: at the parking lot along Rantatie, from which it's a short walk to the harbor.
  • Weather clause: the wind is not always perfect - with light wind, we move calmly by motor. If the wind exceeds safety limits, the skipper may postpone the sailing to another time, and participants will be offered a new time if possible.
  • Upon booking, you will receive an invitation letter and more detailed instructions on arrival and equipment.
